Outlet Box

The outlet box is the central connection point for the washing machine hoses. A typical box includes an opening exactly where the standpipe is inserted and two removable covers exactly where the hot and cold supply valves are mounted. The box has four tabs, two on every single side, which can be fastened for the wall framing to hold it securely in location.

Standpipe

A standpipe extends from the outlet box for the trap below. The washing machine’s drain hose is inserted into the top rated in the standpipe exactly where it fits into the outlet box. Building codes specify how high this pipe must rise above the finished floorRequirements for a Washing Machine Drain. In many jurisdictions, that height is 36 to 42 inches. The pipe have to be 1 1/2 or two inches in diameter, depending upon local building and plumbing codes. In most, two inches is the standard.

Clean Out

The clean-out fitting is often installed just below the outlet box on the standpipe. This can be a plumbing fitting called a tee, which has a threaded plug that may be removed to clean the line. Traps

Commonly referred to as the P trap, this S-shaped group of fittings creates a barrier of water to avoid sewer gasses from rising through the plumbing lines. Some building codes specify how high above the finished floor {bestwashingmachinex.com|http://bestwashingmachinex.com} the P-trap should be positioned, though others allow the trap to be placed below the floor. A typical requirement is for the trap to be at least 6 inches above the finished floor.

Drain Line

This piece of pipe connects the trap either to a feeder line or directly to the building’s main drain line. A drain line carries washing machine drain water from the trap to the main drain.

Vent

Vents provide air so the drain lines don’t come to be vacuum-locked. The vent will usually rise straight out from the sanitary tee that the P-trap is connected to. In some installations it may perhaps connect directly towards the drain line near the trap. The vent could also serve as a vent to nearby fixtures. A good working vent is especially important for washing machines, since they discharge so significantly water at one time.

However, because a front-loading washing machine spins the clothes, they operate with much less water. Ordinarily, a front-loading washing machine uses 40 to 70 percent less water than a top-loading model. This benefits

Saving energy

Most newly produced front-loading washing machines

are designed to become energy efficient, using less electricity than standard washing machines. As previously mentioned, these washing machines use less water than top-loading models. Couple this using the fact that extra water is removed from clothing during the spin cycle, and the result is less time required in an electric dryer, further cutting costs on the electric bill.

Increased Capacity

Laundry

Top-loading washing machines clean clothes using a central-mounted agitator that sits inside the tub. Front-loading washing machines have side-mounted paddles instead of the agitator, meaning that there is much more space for significantly more clothes. This results in fewer loads of laundry; a simultaneous savings of energy, water and time. Larger capacity also means that there is room for larger items, just like comforters and bedding.

Front-loading washing machines gently agitate clothes using side-mounted paddles, letting gravity do the bulk from the work. This is a contrast to top-loading washing machines, which clean clothes by thrashing them about using a central agitator. Constant gentle treatment means a longer life for clothes.
